Hi Lisa, I don't think you upset anyone, I think Dave and Jim were saying that you shouldn't feel bad about receiving DLA.
Best wishes,
Rachel

think you got hold of the wrong end of the stick both me and i will say I think jim too agree with you there should be no stigma to getting DLA or any other benefit
in this country we have at present a system that awards DLA and in the future PIP if after jumping through all the hoops they say you can have it ... you should not feel bad... most people on it are very sick.... and should have no problem taking the help offered
people who have not got dla and have never applied have no idea what people have to go through to get it, and many of the comments you get from them are not based on bad feelings because you have it .... its because they dont understand what DLA is why you get it or just how sick some people are
I suspect and have no evidance to back it up, that many of the people who do kick off and are upset about people who get dla come from a certain selection of the population with there own agenda both political and social ... but I wont cast stones even if I dont live in a green house
I hope I did not upset anyone by the use of the term 'stigma'.
I was merely referring to how some others view DLA claimants.
Apologies to anyone I may have offended.
Lisa

Hi Dave,
You and Fedup were absolutely correct in what I was trying to say.
Perhaps I should have worded my response better.
Best wishes.
Jim

Hi, I think we are all being made to feel like frauds and to constantly question ourselves and our rights.
It leads to an awful lot of anxiety and insecurity.
That is why this site is such a godsend to many of us.
I know we can't have pm but the support that is given 'around' the issues and questions on the forum is so needed and so appreciated!!
