If ATOS had the slightest bit of respect for their 'customers' they would arrange with you a time to visit, instead of telling you that they are calling round on Sunday, of all days!

You can phone and tell them that it is not convenient, and arrange a different appointment.

Hi,

Most DLA medicals take place in the claimants home.

Legally, you are supposed to be given 7 days notice, so yes you can insist that it be carried out at a later date, if you've just received the letter today.

Good luck.

Pat.

No they can not, please correct me if I am wrong moderators.
As Pat says, it is common decency to allow you 7 days to arrange for the visit, they know this but do try it on occasionally. They pass your details onto the EMP who will be visiting you and he/she then contacts you so it is down to his/hers schedule, he is probably trying to get his/her 100 quid payment before getting on with his /her relaxation. Just because you are asking the state for some help does not mean that you are not entitled to your privacy at the weekend, lots of people for many reasons would not want to engage in this on a Sunday, maybe its the only time they can see the family or yes maybe you do go to Church! Just politely tell them that Sunday is simply not suitable at such short notice, dont get into long conversations with them, its not a problem for them to rearrange this and if they threaten you, you have grounds to complain, but i doubt they will. Its easy to feel that you have to do everything they say and when they say it and whilst there are things you have no choice in, this is not one of them. If you were to keep refusing then i may well say perhaps it would be stretching their patience.
Good luck, dont put off ringing them if you need to change it.
