As per my
previous post on this, I got the results last week, and I'm pleased to say that I've been put into the Support Group on my very first medical.
I was surprised to find that, apart from the additional £31.40 for being in the Support Group, I will receive an extra £13.65 per week which is very welcome as it will go towards paying my carer, who does exceptional work for me. Without him, I'd have died of starvation by now!
The other interesting thing is that they are insisting on yearly medicals to review my condition, even though medical science dictates there's no possible way I can ever get better or even make a partial recovery. I can only get worse from here on in.
Surely the money they will spend on medicals for me would be better spent on cases where there is a higher chance of getting them back to work?
I feel so sorry for genuine applicants who are being given the runaround by this crazy, unfair and inconsistent system of benefit assessment.
