please help me, i,ve been on cont. based esa nearly a year now in the wrag group. i recently received the esa50 to fill in which i did. a month later they sent me an appointment for a medical but they day before it they rang to say it had been cancelled due to supporting evidence from my doctor. 2 weeks later i receive a letter saying i have been placed in the wrag group and a letter also saying i have to go on this pathways interview for work. they cancelled my medical as too ill, how do they expect me to go on this pathways interview. i havent had a medical so how can they judge what group to put me into? what do i do, do i appeal or ring them. also being nearly a year on contribution based esa what will happen then. thanks, peptroy
I think the medical was cancelled because they decided from your GP's evidence that you can remain in the WRAG rather than being unable to attend the medical.
If you feel that your condition has worsened and that you should be in the support group now (or in the first place) you should first phone and ask for the decision makers report and reasons for the decision.
Seek advice if necessary as there are risks involved when appealing to get into the support group.
The one year time limit for contribution based ESA has not yet come into force, so your CB/ESA is safe for just over a year.
