ESA Limited capacity for work was created by Jimco
Hi All,

Here is a poser for you.

My wife is still employed by a local council and works in a school. She has been on long term sick since October 2009. She has no sight in her left eye and the sight in her right eye is now seriously diminished. Her sick pay ran out and hence she applied for ESA and was successful. She then had the infamous medical and was placed in the Limited capacity for work group and got awarded the higher benefit. She then had to go to an interview at the Jobcenter. This was held in an open room where everyone could hear every one elses private business. She told the woman everything...that she was still employed etc.

She was then given an appointment for a work focussed interview with "Intraining Group Ltd" asking her to bring a CV with her etc. (Interview 7/2/2011)

She is 1 months of 60 why the incentive to make her work when she is still employed albeit unfit to do it and her GP has recommended retirement?

Regards,

Jimco

I suppose the short answer is -

Because the people who drafted the rules and the politicians who brought them in didn't stop to think about the fact that you can get ESA whilst still working, so didn't draft the rules accordingly; and

Because the people that provide the WFIs get money for doing it.

Could she do a CV aimed at her own job? :D

Surely not? Government not dotting the "i"'s and crossing the "T"'s?
