Hi Belmont

I'm afraid it is not possible to judge if you could get into the support group without detailed information, which is not possible to convey over a message board. For that you need face-to-face advice.

Please read the Understanding ESA guide, which you can download from the members' are here . This will give you detailed information to help assess any claim that you submit.

Hi derek and thanks for ur reply. Do your guides refer to the questionnaire and test I will have to take when I am migrated from IB to ESA. I get confused between what is happening now on the esa test front as shown in ur guides and what test I am likely to face on migration later this year. Also my review date for IB is march 11. Will that be my migration date ? Would be very grateful for help. Thank you.

Hi Belmont

I think it is unlikely that your migration date will be as early as your review date, as the DWP do not appear to be up to speed on the migration process, and are not even clear about who will be migrated when.

Steve Donnison is currently working on guides for the new Work Capacity Assessment that will be introduced in late March. As far as I know the DWP have not yet disclosed the new ESA50 medical form that claimants will have to fill in, which naturally delays the task.

The Disability Alliance page below keeps up-to-date with the IB/ESA migration process.

Oh no, you're joking - there's going to be a new ESA50 questionaire? I feel so deflated now, as I am trying to get my head around the current one in time for migration. :(

It's not really the form you need to worry about, but the new (tougher) assessment.
