I'm presently claiming IB and have been for some time.I have recently realised that I may be eligible for DLA but I'm concerned that this will focus attention on me. Although I have nothing to hide this still bothers me. Does anyone have any experience regarding this or advice they could offer.
Evidence that the decision maker at the DWP who handles your DLA claim can be taken into account when reviewing your IB claim. For the most part, this isn't likely to be a problem because ESA (which will replace your IB) is assessed according to separate criteria, but there are some overlaps, for example how far you can walk is relevant to both ESA and DLA(HRM), so how far you are assessed as being able to walk for DLA purposes might be taken into account when considering how far you are considered able to walk for ESA purposes.
