Thank you for your advice, there are great websites and lots of people on here too with ME/CFS. Hope all goes ok with your employment tribunal, that sounds very stressful in itself. Best Wishes D

Congratulations - I also suffer with ME/CFS but have additional problem of pituitary tumour (partially removed) which masked my ME/CFS for 10 years until finally diagnosed in 2007. Because of all the medication I need to take for my pituitary problem I have recently been diagnosed with osteoporosis. I was retired from work on grounds of ill-health in 2007 and have been claiming IB and DLA since then. I receive higher level mobility and low level care. I have recently begun to feel more and more unable to cope and have applied to have my claim looked at again. I had a claim turned down for additional care last year because I could prepare myself a meal - I don't actually classify toast and jam as a meal but without the help and support of my wonderful long-suffering husband that is all I would eat. I now have the pack and and just building up my strength and mental aptitude to complete. They really are exhausting in themselves.

Firstly, in relation to the work-focussed interviews, you can ask to have these on the phone. Alternately, you can ask for reasonable adjustments under the Disability Discrimination Act, which might include somewhere to lie down during the interview.

Secondly, it is open to you to appeal against the decision to put your husband in the WRAG, but if you do so, the whole application will be reassessed and you could lose the benefit completely. Only you and your husband can know whether you want to take the gamble, but you might want to take into account how many points he got - was it a near thing or did he pass comfortably?

You might want to look at our guide to ESA and decide whether you think that he fits in any of the categories for the support group. It's not just a question of how ill he is. Absurdly, you can be very ill but be put in the WRAG.

 I have not had the medical letter yet they are sending one out for us. Do the esa group accept me/chronic feteige as an illness ?
