Carers allowance - dependant adult ?? was created by shrimp
hi, can anyone help? i get IB for chronic fibromyalgia, DLA mobility high rate and low rate for care - even tho last year got high rate care....decided to go to DIAL and ask if i should write and ask them to review again as my partner has to do lots for me - he was signed off sick from self employment due to depression/stress looking after me our nearly 4 year old twins, the house, and trying to work, he got esa but then thrown off as phyically fit which he never said he wasnt, he has now written and asked them to review again due to above reasons, in meantime if i do get middle rate care and he them applies for carers allowance, there is another form with it that talks about claiming extra for dependant adult ??? what does this mean, just cant get my head around it.
also, if partner cannot get esa again what else could he try and claim for? he is unable to work cos he looks after me and the kids?? he has had no money at all since 10th december.....!!!! we are stuggling on dla, IB, CB and child tax credit....not easy !!....never had to claim benefits before had twins in 2007 and then all my problems started...
advice greatly appreciated

You need to seek help from your local CAB or Welfare Rights Officer, who can sit down with you and look at all the facts of your case and provide advice.
There are unfortunately to many factors that can affect your eligibility for benefits, for us to give detailed advice on the forums.
One thing does stand out, if your husband was denied ESA and is appealing the decision, he should be eligible to receive ESA at the Assessment rate until his case is heard, this should be automatic but is often "forgotten" by the DWP.
Sorry we cannot be of more assistance.
