ESA Appeal won...What happens next? was created by jenniecolbert
I had my appeal last wed and on thurs I got the letter in the morning stating that the appeal was upheld and I went from 0 points to 18 points (6 for physical,12 for mental health!!!!!.However on the letter it doesn't say what happens next.I know that they have said that DWP have to pay me from last june but I've heard nothing from DWP.Is that normal and how long does it usually take? For anyone reading this, please don't get down hearted, the tribunals can work! Thank you to this site for all your help.

Hi Jennie

Congratulations on winning you appeal.

Although the decision notice is usually posted to both the appellant and DWP at the same time, it sometimes can take several weeks for the relevant department at the DWP to receive it.

You may be able to speed up the process by sending them a copy of the decision notice yourself, and then give them a ring in a week to enquire when you will receive your back payments.

Regards

Derek
