MP Letter was created by Pusscat
Hello all

Haven't been here for a while, but I have a question and I need some help.

My MP recently did a letter for me to be sent to the DWP to add to my appeal documents. I have received a letter today saying that it has been forwarded to ATOS Healthcare Customer Relations Team and is being dealt with by the complaints department.

My MP did put a paragraph at the beginning of the letter saying is was additonal information to be submitted to my appeal. As it has not gone to the place originally intended for it to go should I do anything, and if I go to appeal should I take the copy I have of the original letter from my MP and produce it there?

Any help very much appreciated.

Many thanks

Hi Pusscat,

If this letter is one you want included in your appeal evidence then send a copy directly to the tribunal service office dealing with your appeal with a covering letter giving your appeal reference number and asking for the letter to be put in the bundle.

Good luck,

Steve

Hi Pusscat

Firstly good luck with your appeal.

May I ask you what help the MP letter can give you? I now want anything extra I can get to help me along. Would an MP letter just be regarding the time taken and way you have been treated etc If it is personal please don't worry if you do not wish to naswer.

Good luck

John

Steve: My MP sent the letter with the first paragraph saying it was additional information to be included in my appeal to the appeals address and yet they have forwarded it to the complaints department so should I still forward it with a covering letter even though this has happened?

John: I firstly contacted my MP asking if the could assist with my case, I then had to send all the information of to them with any paperwork I had already submitted to the appeals service. They then agreed to do a letter to be included in my appeal. I won't go into the ins and outs of the letter as everyones conditions are different, but in the end they have said the want my case reviewed urgently as I should be in the support group as I am unable to work due to my medical conditions.

They do require all the information though about what is wrong with you and they cannot necessarily guarantee their assistance. I am actually very impressed with what my MP has done for me.

Hope this helps?

Thank pusscat

I am going to email my mp's office and see if they can act and try to get things moved swiftly. It is certainly worht a try, I am going to anything and everything now rather than just sit and wait.

Good luck

I have another question that I'll pop on this thread rather than opening a new one.

Please can someone tell me if I still need to send up-to-date sicknotes in to the benefits people while I am appealing a decision. Mine is due to run out in February and I am due to see my doctor soon, so I can get a new one if this is the case?

Many thanks
