Hi Storm, a good place to start would be this forum.

If you put DLA into the 'search forum' facility above, you will gain much fact, opinion and speculation!

Good luck,
Rachel

Hi Storm,
there's information in the members area news with regard to proposed changes from DLA to PIP it may be best to take a few notes and concentrate upon how the changes will possible effect You as to generalisation and being drawn into political commentary.
The personal story is always more heart wrenching than a list of facts figures and hopefully will receive more sympathetic media coverage.

Just a thought - you might want to mention uncertainty. It's difficult for anyone, let alone you as an ordinary disabled person, to know what is going to happen, except that fewer people will get PIP than DLA. You could then say why you need DLA - the personal story like Bill suggests.

However, it all depends on how much time you have. Can you ask the reporter that up front?

Hi Bill,

I agree. At the moment plans to change DLA to PIP is currently only a proposal, and currently under consultation.

I'd be very wary to speak to a reporter, except to point out how the person's quality of life and the financial implications if they were to lose their DLA and not qualify for PIP.

We don't know enough about PIP in my opinion to give definitive information to a reporter, and we all know how the press, both national and local can report things out of context.

For what it's worth

Jim
