Excellent news! Thanks to this wonderful site I have just been upgraded from Low Rate Mobility and Middle Rate Care to High Rate Mobility and High Rate Care!

I sent for a form for a review in September, filled it in (using advice from this site) and sent it off. The 'decision' took 8 weeks and left me on the same rate Low mobility and Middle Care, despite the fact that I can no longer walk at all and need assistance 24/7 from various carers. I decided not to appeal straight away and (with help) went through everything on this site and wrote back to DLA asking them to look at their decision again. They sent an acknowledgement, telling me this would take 11 weeks (bringing me to February 2011).

Imagine by surprise and delight on 23 December when I opened a letter from DLA telling me the decision had been changed to High Rate Care and High Rate Mobility. As an added bonus, there was just a little over £1000 backdated benefit paid as well.

Although my award is only for two years, it will make the world of difference and I cannot thank this site enough for the wonderful detailed assistance. It is definitely the best £29 I ever spent when I subscribed. Keep up the good work! :cheer:
