How long for a ESA decision after medical

Hi everyone

How long does it take for DWP to make a decision after a home medical?

I have been waiting ages and cannot get through on their helpine and they also stopped paying me assessment rate (again - I have had the same problem before and it took them 8 months to backpay me) - this time I have not had any for 3 months so far.... just writing to them again - no doubt another ignored letter.....

They exhaust me chasing them and writing to them.......

The doctor who did the home medical on me, did not want to see all my endless operation details and appointment folders - he said he was recommending me going into the support group and he hoped that the DWP would take his recommendation and that I would not have to go through this for a long time. I had hoped a DWP letter may soon follow - but it has been about 6 weeks now or so.

Could the DWP have stopped paying me ESA at assessment rate as I have not sent in my latest sick notes? Just realised that they have not requested them and with all my hospital treatment, I forgot to ask my husband to send them in.

I have got a pack fo stuff to send to them - as have been trying to get through on phone and it just says no calls can be taken.

I am sure you need to send sick notes, till told to stop....they wont request them just stop paying

Hi Tilly, I think they have stopped your ESA because you haven't sent in your 'fit notes' from your gp, this has happened to me and at least one other person.

Can you get your husband to post them recorded delivery as soon as possible? And make sure you copy them first.

I have just got the fit notes ready for him to send - they lost the previous ones despite being sent recorded delivery and them arrviing!!! They cover from just before they stopped paying me - will they backdate the ESA once they have them?

I just didnt realise we had not sent them and have been in and out of hospital and only noticed when funds ran out in my account - silly me I know .....

How quickly did anyone get a decision after their medical?
