Will you be classed as
(a) Cannot walk with a walking stick or any other aid for the support group if your walking in severe discomfort from the start point of walking.

They have taked care of that one with
(b) move (with the aid of crutches if crutches are normally used);
To me that means you dont get in the support group if you use crutches because you can move

If you experience severe discomfort prior to walking, then you should be classed as being unable to walk. There is case law regarding this subject in this thread.

Hi
I was refused the support group for walking even though the Atos doctor stated i was virtually unable to walk he stated that i would be able to propel myself 30m in a wheelchair. This i am unable to do. I asked the DWP to look at it again but they refused.

The amended Walking descriptor to Mobilising now increases the distance and includes an element of repeatability.
Viz:-
Proposed Descriptors
1) Mobilising unaided by another person with or without a walking stick, manual wheelchair or other aid if such aid can reasonably be used.
Cannot either:-
(i) mobilise more than 50 metres on level ground without stopping in order to avoid significant discomfort or exhaustion
or
(ii) repeatedly mobilise 50 meters within a reasonable timescale because of significant discomfort or exhaustion.
