Help with IB50 was created by Mike1878
Hi there I have been putting off filling in my IB50 and now its due in less than a week.

I would like to know the best way to fill this form in and whether or not they expect it to look like a A Level exam or like its been written by someone who suffers from mental health?

Its been a while since I filled one in so any help would be really good.

Also, how likely is it that they will send me for a medical after returning this IB50 and will they wait until March so they can cane me with the new medical exam?

Cheers, Mike

Please do not post duplicate messages, it confuses everybody and makes it difficult to provide an answer to your questions.

Thank you

Have you looked at the Claiming IB documents in the Members Area.

As I understand it, the decision on whether you will need to attend a medical will be made based on the content of your IB50.

Having received an IB50 you will be processed for Incapacity Benefit, the criteria for ESA are different as is the response form (ESA50).

If you have any other questions please come back to the forum.

Hi Gordon, I didn't mean to double post but the first one didn't show up so I pressed the back button and it must have posted again. Sorry about that!

Thanks for your reply, I am just a bit worried about dates and things.. I have trouble remembering things and in the IB50 there is a lot of "when did you..." questions. How important is it that I find out the dates? Is it acceptable to just state the best guessed month?

Also, I haven't been to see my Doctor for a while, will that go against me in the decision?

All postings are 'Pre Moderated' so will only show on the forum once cleared by one fo the moderating team.

Re your IB50 put in the dates as best as you can, if you cannot remember the exact day/date the month will do or 'approximately' if a wider potential time line.

It would be ideal to keep your GP upto date with your condition even if by sending him a letter explaining about your claim and your current medical situation.
