Too ill to go to appeal next week was created by Susan Boniwell
I have osteo arthritis in multipule joints and have been forceablly retired from any type of work at the County Council. I have a tiny pension, which was approved by a occupational health trained doctor. I have been to many different departments of the hospital, had plastic surgery to release the carpel tunnel and am going to be assessed for ulner nerve treatment next week.
I failed the medical a year ago in Jan, was awarded 6 points. This is the reason I appealed. Since then, my arthritis is worse, I can't do as much and mentally I've become agrophobic, depressed and suffer anxiety and panic attacks. I had depression and anxiety in my original claim.
Now I have had a scan of the pelvic area for my arthritis, but the worst thing is they have found a mass in my pelvis which is related, maybe to an earlier op. I just don't feel I can manage to go to the appeal at the moment, I phoned and they told me to write and explain and ask for a postponment, but I just want to let it go.
If it goes through and I don't get an award, which is what I think will happen as they returned the reports from my doc and say they never had any, so their no evidence, when can I re-apply as my condition has changed a lot.
Thank you, sorry for this long post!

If you simply can't face the appeal, you don't have to withdraw it, you could let it go through as a paper appeal. But seriously consider a postponement as you may feel a bit better in time and there's such a backlog it may be a while before a postponed hearing is held.
If your condition has worsened, there is no minimum time to reapplying. Assuming your reference to points means that your query relates to ESA, there is a six month limit from the decision being made if there is no change in your condition, but this doesn't apply where your condition is now worse.

Thank you, your information is very helpful. This appeal is just one more thing to face and worry about. It's helpful to know, the paper work is so difficult to understand - my husband couldn't find an answer!
The thing is that my condition is worse and now they have found new conditions to go with it. With thanks, Sue
