It also says "If you have any further evidence you wish the Tribunal to consider, please send this to us straight away in case our appeal can be heard before this date."

I suppose in reality there's no urgency then because of the backlog.

I got a letter DBD290 with my DLA appeal papers submission saying about having 2 weeks to send comments to the Disability and Carers Service...

"If you have any comments about the information contained in the submission please send them to us at the address shown above. You should do this witin two weeks of the date shown at the top of this letter."

Even the Disability and Carer's service though are asking for two weeks. I still don't know why they just want two weeks.

Dave reckons talking to the DCS would be just hearsay. If the decision making has already been passed to the Tribunal Service ... unless it hasn't?

But then the tribunals letter says "now that your appeal has been forwarded to the Tribunals Service"

Have you applied for a paper hearing or an oral one?

This is important as the timescales for submitting evidence are very different.

On question2 it says..
"Do you want to have a hearing where you and your representative, if you have one, can meet the Tribunal and put your case? "

I ticked the yes box. The form doesn't say 'oral hearing' just 'hearing'. The tribunals website has a copy of the form - I've pasted here...

"If you have ticked NO, we will go ahead on the basis that you have no objection to your appeal being decided by the Tribunal in your absence. You can still write to us with anything you would like the Tribunal to take into consideration, but please do so within the next 14 days."

That's fine, by ticking the box you are asking for an Oral Hearing.

I was just worried, as we had all assumed that was what you were doing, but no one had asked. :)

This bit here i'm looking at again. I've posted off the form now. It looked just the same as the one on the website.

It has just got a little concerned but i doesn't mention further evidence. I was thinking i'd need to send further evidence in 14 days but i think it just means about special arrangements like an interpreter as on Question 6 or a hearing loop as on Question 8.
