Advice please IB,DLA was created by Heather Goodwin
Hello

My partner has been called for an Atos medical.

In Feb her IB came up for renewal, she is also on high rate DLA care and mobility.

They wrote and said that so long as she continues to fit the criteria for high rate dla, her IB would continue and she needn't attend a medical.

We heard nothing more until this week when she was summoned for a ATOS medical. No questionaire to fill in beforehand, just straight to medical.

We have sent in a GP letter and requested she has a home medical, because she's pretty much housebound.

We had read that people on high rate dla are excempt from the PCA.

Can anyone advise us please? It all seems to be changing really fast so it's hard to find up to date information.

many thanks.

What you say is true, unless you live in one of the two areas where they are moving people on to ESA ... where do you live Aberdeen or Blackburn are I think the two areas, if you dont live there but your benefits comes over them offices that could be the reason.

Hi all

Thank you for confirming the posistion.

I've just rung on her behalf and spoke to a lovely lady. It seems that she is not due for renewal until 2013 (unless this new scheme's rolled out)

For some strange reason a marker has been left on her file from previous annual dates of when she would have been reviewed, pre high rate dla days.

This has triggered Atos to send a medical invite, even though she shouldn't be reviewed until June 2013.

They are ringing back later to confirm the medical is cancelled. They will also contact ATOS to try and get the marker removed from her file.

Thanks for helping out :)
