Taking the plunge: DLA supersession

Can anyone suggest a rough timetable on decisions? Likelihood that I'll be asked to complete the an entire DLA claim form again? Anyone want to start a book on how long it will be before I have to appeal?

Debated weeks about whether or not to apply for an increase to Higher Rate Care when I'm already getting indefinite awards of HRMobility and MRCare (based on a worsening of my condition in the last year) but your news update/freedom of information request on supersession success rates from April clinched it - sent off all my evidence and two page letter this evening Special Delivery - so if the whole thing goes t*ts up I'm blaming Benefits and Work! Not really.

Hi,
I think there is more chance of me picking all 6 lotto numbers two weeks in a row than there is of trying to guess how long you may be waiting for the result of your request and whether or not it will ultimately result in an appeal.
All we can do is wish you the very best of luck in your quest. Don't forget to obtain as much evidence as you possibly can to support your claim, make full use of the guides in the members area of this site and do seek some professional face to face welfare rights assistance, particularly if you do end up at a tribunal.

I'm slightly worried because the first letter said I should send back any forms they had sent... As far as I know there haven't been any but with all the ice and snow over Xmas I can't be 100% sure. Should I phone them to double check nothing has been sent or will it just p*ss them off? Should I just wait the three remaining weeks and ring then, with the risk of discovering that they're waiting for a form back from me that didn't arrive in the first place?!
Am I just getting way to stressed about this?

I too have done this after 15 years of just higher rate mobility I have applied for care too... I think IMO I will get middle rate care
worse case is I end up on lower lower which would be same dosh as now so no worse off. I have had access to the help from this site and 4 different lots of welfare advisors from different charites who all say I have a good case ... of course you never know what they will do
I know they have the paperwork because I too sent it special delivery then checked with help line who said they have it and it went to a DM yesterday which is quick he could of course now write to everyone and I hear nothing for six months then get nothing and have to start arguing
I also did not fill in mobility I wrote no change
