Hi , after 15mths on esa waiting appeal i was offered a job trial, it never occured so i rapid reclaimed , 3mths later i was offered a job and went to go onto jsa ( mistake i know), at the same time the job offer failed ,at the the same time i recieved a letter to say i had won my appeal without even going! i stopped the jsa claim ( not processed no money payed). and got in touch with dwp, they have calculated my back pay £ 1344( not yet payed) but were reluctant to reinstate me to esa ,i have written a letter 9th oct explaining it all due to frustration of working for 45 years etc they said they would look into it. question! do i have any rights to be reinstated! if i have to make a new claim were do i stand. all my fault i admit but is it salvagable i have had no money for 4 weeks now ,any advice please.

The linking rules aren't quite straightforward, so it's difficult to advise without quoting large chunks of rules, as I can't advise on your specific situation but only on the rules in general as they may be relevant. I think that you need to see a welfare adviser who can take you through this and ask you all the relevant questions about your circumstances. (Unless one of the more experienced moderators could sum the rules up succinctly.)

I've just found this thread with a post by Crazydiamond which seems to explain the linking rules. www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?func=view&catid=10&id=33191
