Oh anna, this gives me great hope! I too suffer with sever M.E aswell as Fibromyalgia & now sever depression too. I'm on my own trying to bring up 2 children aged 6 & 8 with no help or support what so ever I have been refused DLA twice already and had to attend the tribunal in september who as my claim was started last december, they couldn't take into account of my deteriation even though it is a progressive illness! They wouldn't accept my consultant's letter or Gp etc as that apparently was dated after the original claim. the outcome was negative but the bloke there from the DWP said to me after that he could see how bad i was, now walking wiv a stick, finding it hard to get around, can't sit for too long before getting extreme pain, only ever relatively comfortable when lying down! He basically asssured me that i would be eligible now and would send out a new form etc and he would write a letter/note to be put in along side the form. well, did all that, sent all the relevant documents off once again and received on monday a letter, refusing any component again!!!! So now i got appeal all over again! i really can't stand much more, i'm sat here now at this time of night as i can't get comfy, i'm totally exhausted and crying wiv the pain, yet i still got get up and deal with the children in morning, school run etc. Sorry for the rant people, i'm no good with these things & have not commented before on any sort of forum, but only joined this site yesterday as i so need some guidance here, please guys what do i need to do, i'm so alone & receiving very lil help it's draining me of every single drop of energy i haven't got to start with!!! Jo

Hi flowerpothoney,
I feel for you.
I too have fibromyalgia triggered by a high speed car crash and then developed severe ME. I understand you being up late on here - me too. FMS/ME messes with your ability to get to sleep at a "normal" time and stay asleep. With children it must be very hard for you. Try to catch up on sleep while they are at school to build up some enrgy reserves. Please try not to despair, although I know it is hard not to. Just try to break the forms down into doing a little each day. It took me 5 weeks to fill in my DLA forms! (and unable to do much else the rest of the day.)
If you have a welfare rights worker in your area, contact them first. They can usually come to the house. ME seems to be much more common now and a lot of welfare workers will have come across pople with it before. You need to stress how you are on your worst days and not try and put a brave face on what you can only achieve with severe pain/exhaustion.

That is brilliant news, I keep being refused mine (although appeal awarded me low rate care) and this gives me hope... well done
