I too was always fighting for DLA each time the renewal time came around. I got awarded Higher Rate of Mobility and Middle Rate of Care but only ever for 2 years.,

This time around I carefully read your paperwork regarding DLA and with each question made sure I wrote extra. In the end it read like a copy of 'War & Peace'. When the brown envelope arrived i could not bring myself to read it, eventually I did and found not only had I been awarded Higher Rate of Mobility and Middle Rate of Care but it was marked indefinitely!!!

I didn't go into as much detail as Mike but did the best I could, I did not enclose letters from the hospital or GP but told them that I had been for a medical only 2 months before for SDA to see if I was 80% disabled. Fortunately on the day I went for the medical I was at my worst. I did think of cancelling but thought if I could get to the centre it may stand me a better chance if the doctor saw how bad I was.

I am very happy to have the DLA and SDA I thank you all involved with Benefits & Work for all the information you have given, without you I do not think I would have been successful
