A WFI is a work-focussed interview. It is not a medical. It is a meeting with someone from the DWP to discuss how you might move towards getting back to work.

ok here goes, i will be expecting a full investigation in to my concerns, i wont be able to type this all straight away, as i am feeling very strained, and concentraion levels are bad.

1. i recently was sent a letter to "arrange a meeting with you", it was to take place at a certain time and date. "If for any reason you can not attend, it is very important to let me know as soon as possible"

nothing saying i had to attend nothing saying my benifts could would or may be affected.

2. i called the telephone number on the letter and spoke to the person who had sent the letter, i told him that due to my mental health problems and the symptoms, and that it would not be safe for him, my self or other clents for me to come to that interview, i asked for the interview to be considered for defferal (as it has been done in the past) i also told him that i was to ill to attend and i would not under any circumstances be attending that interview, and he should take into consieration the issues i had raised.

3. another letter arrived the next day asking me to come to the office for a meeting, a day after the original letter arrived, i once again spoke to the same person and explained why i could not come to the interview.

4. each time i spoke to this person he refused to listen to me and i was ignored in my requests to have the interview deffered or conducted over the telephone or in my home.

5. some days later i get another letter, "we are writting to tell you of a decision relating to your claikm for ib" "the law states you must take part in a meeting tp recice benifits at the fuill rate" "your personal adviser invited you to attend a meeting on*******"
"unfortuantly as you did not attend this meeting we have made the following decision: mr wrong name (addresed to me but they call me somebody else in the letter)

"failed to take part in a meeting and has not shown good cause for such a failure within 5 working days, "this means the ampunt you are entilted to is likely to reduce by £38 per week"

this letter was signed by the same person who had sent the 2 appointment letters.

in all 3 letters no reference has been made as to what this meeting actually is, this is only the start of the issue, its the next part of this that will shock you all.

i also did not know personal advisers had the power to impose that kind of sanction against me, i thought it had to be a dm, also the wording of the acual law, does it state wgat he wrote in the letter " the law says you must take part in a meeting" and everything else he calls "meetings" what are these meetings actuaky called, the way he has wrote this letter is strange as far as i know the the law would state the name of the actual meetings

When you say WFI, do you mean a medical for IB, or an actual interview for work with a jobcentreplus manager.

not a medical, this is about a meeting with a personal adviser, the name of the interview i do not fully know, all will be come clear as i try to explain the story, im finding this very hard to explain to you people so that i am understood. i need to stop writing for now as im getting tired and feel extremly sick as to what has happend as i say all will be expaoned in good time

well the thing is i notifed this person twice that i would not be able to attend, i was obvisly ignored by hime and he failed to take into account my circumstances.

i became extremly angry that i had been ignored and then accused of failing to nottify etc.

i called the local jobcenter i told them i wanted to make a formal complaint, i was told that the complaint had to be put in writing, which i knew was wrong as it can be made in other ways, so i continued to tell this person about my complaint, that i did speak to the advisor 2 times explaing why i was unable to attend, that i had been ignored and now my benifit had been sanctioned. amd that i wanted this looked into (to be followed by a writen formal complaint)

he took details of the complaint, he told me he would ring me back with a update latter that day. this person i spoke to is one of my so called advisors coleagues, they sit at desks with computers.

i later got a call back from his manager who is the "adviser manager" i found this out a few days latter when i seen this person and "adviser manager" was on the name badge.
