Brilliant news pilotman...I'm sort of going to be in the same boat as you.... Did you actually cancel your first appeal to go into the support group then sent in a fresh appeal when your condition worsened.. only I cancelled my first appeal for the support group as they put frighteners on me by saying I could lose the lot if reassessed wrongly, but now about 9 months later my condition has worsened but thought I couldn't appeal again..I can't believe the success I have had all because of the fantastic information and guides on this website. I have just been placed in the Support Group - and this is the amazing thing - with no medical! My wife didn't believe me when I read the letter to her - we were expecting the dreaded brown envelope to contain an appointment date for my medical. Thank you so much! On my post 6 months ago I was angry, frustrated and very worried as I had been told I was fit to work - what a joke that was (I wish I was fit to work, believe me!) Anyway, I appealed AND put in a fresh claim because my condition had worsened and I had new problems. When the appeal papers started to arrive I decided to cancel the appeal as I thought it was a waste of time because I had more medical conditions now and I would rather concentrate all my efforts (and my wonderful wife's) in continuing with the fresh claim. Well a few weeks ago I completed the dreaded medical questionnaire, only this time I had the fantastic information and advice from this website. I also included copy letters from my specialists to my GP going back a couple of years, which my GP had kindly printed for me (as advised on this website). The med questionnaire says not to send anything with the form and to send any additional information to the JC+ who looks after your file - but I read here that you should send the additional information with the form to make sure the assessor sees it (and I also sent it to JC+). We are so relieved not to have to go to a medical where what you say is misinterpreted by an assessor who uses a computer keyboard to select pre-determined elements of sentences that don't fit what you have just said to them! I don't know how long I will continue to be in the Support Group before I am re-assessed (or before the Govt cuts are felt) but for now I am appreciating having one less thing to worry about! Thank you again.
