Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the website as without it i would not have known where to start.I applied for dla and was initially refused(this was my third application but going back approx 5 years).I took the advice online and asked to appeal rather than have a reconsideration and before it went to appeal i got an award of higher mobility and middle rate care awarded until March 2014.Iknow i am one of the lucky paople as many are still struggling regarding what they are rightly entitled to.So once again many many thanks to you all for all your effort that you oput in and good luck to everyone still trying to get a reasonable outcome. One thing i would like to ask is should i still contacy yhem to ask for copies of the evidence they used in their decision as i am aware they can look at your case again at anytime and wondered if it would be better to have this informatiom
Congratulations on your excellent award and thank you for sharing the news with us.
It really is up to you whether you ask for the evidence they used. But if you didn't have a medical then they are only likely to have contacted your GP or other health professional you see regularly.
Some people are reluctant to ask for copies of evidence after a successful award for fear that it might cause a DM to look at the decision again. Whilst this shouldn't happen, it does seem to occur occassionaly.
Good luck,
Steve
