Hi Have looked around the forum and cant seem to find the answer to what I am loking for. My husband receives DLA on mental health grounds. He is not due for a renewal until 2011. He has recently had a couple of slipped discs in his spine which has not got better, he has had this for 4 months now. During a series of tests to check what is going on they have found some form of arthritus on his spine. He is due to have a scan to check all this out. My question is if we apply for DLA as he is needing a lot of help at the moment will they look at the mental health side of it again as well as physical, Is it possible to fill in a form and state that mental health still the same and ask them just to look at this latest problem. any advice would be appreciated Thanks

As DLA is one benefit, with a care and mobility component, the DWP Decision Maker can look at the award as a whole.
Also, if there has been a material change in your husband's needs, as it seems in this case ( a worsening) you must report that to the DLA Unit in Blackpool on 08457 123456.
