Won my ESA appeal! was created by lauriejeanette
I would like to thank benefits and work for all the help and advice for which you have provided and the support throughout this process. I had my appeal today at 2pm and I represented myself but got all my knowledge from here. The appeal consisted of a female judge and a male doctor - both were very nice and friendly and very understanding. I found it difficult to revisit the time period from which I first applied for this as it was eleven months ago but I was well prepared. The whole procedure took 25 minutes and i'm very pleased with the outcome.
So once again, thank you as I would not have been able to do it without your help

Hi lauriejeanette
Congratulations on winning your appeal, and thanks for letting us all know.
I'm pleased to hear you had a friendly and understanding tribunal, hopefully it will reduce the fears of other members who have to attend tribunal hearings.
Best wishes
Derek

Hello
I'm not entirel sure if this is the right place to post this, but as it is with regards to ESA appeals I am hoping it is.
I have recently been placed in the Work Related Activity Group. I have multiple medical conditions and am too ill too work so my plan is to appeal this decision.
I do have one question though. What happens if you are too ill to attend the Work Related Activity Group?
Any advice anyone can offer would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks
Pusscat

Hi LJ- how many points did you score in your original medical & how many did the appeal judges award you?

Hi LJ,
Congratulations and thank you for letting us know.
Pusscat, the work-related activity group isn't a group as such, just the name for the group of claimants who are deemed to be capable of some work related activity.
