Hi all

After having a bad night last night re disability and very little sleep, i was woken by my mail thudding through my letterbox. I came down the stairs to find that dreaded letter from DWP re mortgage interest payments.

I really dont know how we are expected to pay the additional amount, i already have to pay £165 every 4 weeks and now i am expected to find an additional £144.36 every 4 weeks totalling £309.36 straight off my ESA. It clearly states that you do not have the right to appeal and will start on 29/09/10.

I received another letter re ESA telling me that my ESA will be increased by £10 a week but will not start until 1/12/10. I really dont get it, this will cripple me big time and i am sure i am not alone. To top it all with my ESA letter the DWP have sent me a guide for appealing a job seekers allowance award!!! I really dont know whether i am on my a..e or my head!!! Has anyone else received these letters yet?

Mm : :(

The same letter has just arrived, I have to find£44 a week to pay my mortgage, if i was to take this from my ESA a week I will have to live on £46 a week which is impossible. Does my mortgage lender also put down interest rates, do they have the right to demand all the interest rate payment from me.

I am on ESA, DLA, cancer patient, unemployed for 1 year. The DWP SAID i HAVE TO FIND THE MONEY SOMEHOW.

Hi Shaznay

I have contacted DWP and they are sending me INF2 to see if i can claim anymore help. So it may be worth seeing if you are eligible for any more help. You have nothing to lose. I really dont know like yourself how i am going to manage, all i do know is its going to be a very chilly winter as cutbacks have to be made somewhere with bills.

Kind regards
Mm x :(
