I too was awarded full pension after medical retirement. It took 3 years to get it. The key words are 'permanently incapable'. In my case they couldnt award straight away because they wanted to see if there was any chance of recovery. So it is worth keep trying.
As it happens im now back at work for the same 'firm' however in a different role. I am able to keep the pension as long as i dont earn over the amount i was retired on and dont do the job i am incapable of..

Martha- I'm so pleased to hearyou finally received your pension & now can also do some p/t work.
Jima1 - So far I have got nowhere with Unison's head office as I keep getting referred back to my branch but thanks for the tip about Steve's wife- brain fog setting in - I can't remember her name.

hi there cana anyone answer my question on early ill health retirement pension.I am in reciept of my early ill health retirement pension on the grounds that i am not able to carry out any sort of work before my retirement age.if i was put back in to employment that i would loose my pension?
