I had two home medicals done. The first appeared to understand and confirm my mobility problems but when it came to the crunch he had gone against me.
The second doctor was the exact opposite and asked me if I would allow him to contact a OT as I was not safe at all, especially getting in and out of the bath. This doctor did wonders for me and I was awarded DLA but more so, I now have equipment that makes my life so much better in the house. The Doctors are not all blind and/or prejudiced.
I am glad that some others have reported that they had a pleasant interview and medical examination in relation to their DLA claim.
I had two home visits, Mobility, & Attendance before DLA came into being.
Some years later I had to go for an examination to confirm I was as disabled as was claiming.
I could tell from the attitude and the look on the doctors face that he was thinking,,WTF did they drag this person in here for an examination. He kindly helped me on with my jacket and apologised for them bringing me in.
