Barkthedog There was a case recently where A. Person was in receipt of £150 per week benefits and loans that exceeded their weekly benefit income.

I fail to see that any provocation was intended... and, I am not the first to make such a comment, far from it.

I suppose at some stage it may well be inevitable that I may even get a knock on the door, so be it I guess, I have nothing to hide - therefore nothing to be concerned about or indeed fear... admitted though it would be a waste of my precious time, "C'est la vie", they may consider they are paying towards it, so one should submit to whatever questions they may have, and move on back to your own degree of normality.

I believe a well known phrase sums it up nicely (IMHO). "Don't let the devils grind you down!"

They seem to be doing a very good job at creating mass hysteria and worry for genuine claimants...which is a shame because as individuals it is still something we can take responsibility for.

I cannot find the link to the story I quoted earlier, no doubt it will be around somewhere as it appeared in a tatty tabloid.

Being honest and truthful regarding a benefit application is surely the most logical approach to take,.. and indeed the only one.

Why do you think this site needs to have guides to the totally different (arguably, surreal) logic and use of language deployed by those in authority for whom we have to fill in forms?
Do you think their tortuous semantics are mere coincidence?
Or likewise that it's purely by accident that medical "assessments" so often turn out to be a compendium of creative writing and the direct opposite of what was clearly said (and heard) in the course of such "assessments"?

However honest any answer, if the codings aren't right the unfortunate applicant stands a very high chance of being stuffed.

I suppose at some stage it may well be inevitable that I may even get a knock on the door, so be it I guess, I have nothing to hide ...

Sorely tempting though it is, I will hold back from making any (extremely insulting, albeit accurate) comment on that statement.
