Hi Velvet:
my experience was similar to staffielover ( spinal problems not through an accident however, lumbar canal stenosis).
It has taken just over two years and four attempts to be awarded D.L.A (higher rate mobility) all be it only until August 2012 when it will be reassessed to see if the next op. improves mobility but it's a start.I am now in the process of preparing for a A.T.O.S E.S.A medical OH JOY well at least I don,t get bored.
There's some b----y good advice on this site most important of which as previously mentioned in other postings DON'T GIVE UP.
Best Wishes and good luck.

Hi Staffielover,
Try Local Tel Guide. other offices will help, either by telephone or make an appointment to see someone. I wish you well, if you are fighting a DLA problem don't give up.
Your Staffie would not give up so don't you, from ONE Staffielover to another.

Hi Dee,
I`m getting my DLA ok at present.
I am just worried about these new proposals coming in 2013(probably 1000s of others are as well)!
Have emailed my local mp,cameron, clegg, duncan sith obnoxious osborne and maria miller the minister for disabled people.
Had a letter from my mp who wrote to mari miller who then wrote a standard tory reply of "we`ll be ensuring that the money goes to those who deserve it1" but failed to answer my question of why should DLA recipients who have been awarded dla for life or indefinately have to undergo another degrading medical, surely the govt is reneging on a contract if it already stated in writing that people have been awarded DLA for life.
I`ve just been told yesterday that a rear end car shunt by a hit and run driver 2 years ago fractured a vertabra in my already fragile spine which hasn`t healed and I may have to have major surgery.
Hopefully not,as I feel putting screws and plates in my porous boned spine would be like trying to screw a gate to a rotten gate post!!!
Still, something else to show that i shouldn`t get my DLA stopped or reduced.
MY Loyal staffie is the only little man keeping me sane at present!(everytime I see George Osborne on the telly i want to throw a brick at him!).
Had him two years ago as a shy, kennel stressed dog from the NAWT rescue,he replaced my old girl staffie who sadly had to be sent on her way due to inoperable cancer.
Ronnie is his name,he has a brother somewhere called Reggie!!!
