Why is there such a time-lag on updated posts? was created by Barkthedog
Non problemo, but was just wondering why it can be up to 10-15 hours before there is an update on postings?
Am I to assume every single post is moderated prior to being uploaded to the forum? If so may I ask why this is the case?
Full respect intended.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Allow me to tell you why there is such a lag in updating posts.
The moderators on the site are all volunteers who have their own health problems to contend with. Every post has to be read carefully for anything that may bring the site into disrepute. This morning I had to sit and read through 20 posts and this evening do similar.
We are also 2 experienced moderators short, one of whom is in hospital the other has other commitments.
I hope that explains your concern with regard to the delay in updating the posts, also it should be pointed out [again] that these forums are provided as a courtesy and do not form part of your subscription.

Hi,
Can I just add that at the moment I'm also very seldom available to post on the forum due to personal circumstances, so the few moderators are are very much being left to cope on their own.
We have discussed closing one or both of the boards whilst we are so short of moderators, but so far the mods have decided that they would rather keep them open.
So, your patience is very much appreciated and please - as I've said before - try to keep posts as brief as possible.
Many thanks,
Steve
