ib suspension was created by pete
hello all
i have been getting ib for 5yrs,during the last 3yrs i have been out of the EEC on several holidays, some for 6months.
each and every time i have contacted the ib dept and told them the dates of departure, and on arrival home, told them i was back
in sept 09 i was suspended, and have received no benifits since this date.
during this time from sept 09 i have lost
2 appeals-the first from the local office, the second from overseas payments in newcastle.
i am now waiting for a final tribunial date.when i first started going abroad the gov.co web site gave me the impression i was allowed 26 weeks at a time, any advise would be appreciated.
kind regards pete

Hi Pete,
I'm afraid this is beyond the scope of what we can give information on. All I can suggest is that you really do need to get specific advice about this. Use our free guide to:
Help with benefits
to try to find a representative.
It would also be worth asking the DWP to provide a copy of the text relating to going abroad that appeared on their website at that time.
Good luck,
Steve

came across this once where someone had like you done lots of trips and the end result in there case was that the wording maximum of 26 weeks was explained as "total" so once he had done 26 weeks he could go no more unless the places visited where ones a Reciprocal Agreement is in place
also before your first trip had you passed the six months off sick mark ?
