anyone help explaining this please

Hi All,

My son suffers from depression and has been sending in "Fit notes", anyway he had a letter to attend an Atos medical on Monday 5th July, but on the thursday before this, he had a text asking him to attend the local JCP, for a back to work interview???????????. he had to explain to them that he hadn't had his medical yet so he was asked to go today Wednesday 7th July, this sounds like a complete fix to me, what it's saying to me is, that they knew he was going to fail the medical,even before he had it.

He explained this to the lady that interviewed him today, and has written on his form that in her opinion he's not fit for work, so we will wait and see what happens.

Anyone else got any opinions as to what is going on.

Hi Harley,

Not a stitch-up, just a complete mess. They are so far behind with medicals that many claimants are having all their pathways interviews before they have had a decision about whether they are eligible for ESA and which group they should be in.

Thanks Steve, even the lady at JCP could do nothing else but shrug her shoulders, but at least she listened to what my son had to say. Will now wait and see what happens.

Hi Harley, I would contact your MP and let him/her know what a shambles this is. I think the more that report the failings of the system the better. People think it is very easy to claim these benefits, the more that stories like yours are reported the better. Good Luck
