DLA on mental health grounds

I'm one of the lucky few who have an indefinite award but I only get LRM because I have agoraphobia. I simply cannot manage without it, but how on earth are they going to be able to assess something like agoraphobia ? and many other mental health problems ? For a start - where would I be assessed ? I cant go anywhere other then extreme local distances and I cant imagine some test place would be set up in the little small town where I live !?!? so if I couldnt get to the place they'd probably just stop it anyway.
I absolutely am panicking and there is nothing I can do to stop it because while there is comfort in the fact it is 2013 before it happens - just the knowing that it is going to happen then is stressful but because it is so far away - we dont have all the full facts yet !!
Is there any more information about how they will assess mental health claimants anywhere ?

Hi,
Sorry to say you have partly answered your own question with the term 'we dont have all the full facts yet !!'.
There is currently no further information that has been released, anything you read in the press at the moment is really just speculation.
I am sure whenever any further info is forthcoming, Steve will be 'on the case' and it will be published on this site.

I changed your display name because your whole email address was showing.
I don't think even the coalition will be in a position to force eveyone to attend a medical centre regardless of their health condition - not without repealing the disability discrimination act first, at any rate.
And it's way too soon to panic - now is the time to protest! Start by writing a letter to your MP and telling them what DLA means to you and what you think about their relentless attacks on disabled people.
Good luck,
Steve
