Hi all , after 2 years of sickness i felt better to return to work and have got a job paying OVER 15000 p/a , im very excited and happy but would like to know if im entitled to any back to work benefits or help whilst i wait for the first paycheck or even after ? Currently get full rent and council tax paid until my start date ( 1 week ) my partner though is still not well enough to return to work as of yet so im presuming all benefit will cease ? . For help with individual benefit entitlement, you may wish to refer to the guide entitled "Getting help with your benefits" which is available to members HERE.

You could also use the Turn2us benefits checker to discover which benefits/tax credits are available? It can be accessed HERE.

Hi nachonovo ,

Your partner's benefits will only change if they are on Income related benefits and not contributory .

You should get HB and CTB run on for four weeks if you fit the criteria .

You should get a one off payment from the DWP when you return to work called a job grant of £100 ..

There is also an adviser discretionary fund for situations such as travel to work and clothes for work available from the Disability Employment Adviser/ Personal adviser at your local JCP.
Have a look at the Return to work payment , although part of the rules for that is that you earn under £15,000.

You may be eligible for working Tax credit , with or without the diability element , and it is possible you could be entitled to an amount of HB and CTB even when in work if you get amounts of WTC or the disability premium of it .

You should be sent the HB and CTB forms to fill in automatically with your new circumstances ..but you must tell all concerned that you have work.

You need to be speaking to your DEA /personal adviser at JCP , and or an advice centre ..as there are time limits to some of these payments .

Hope this helps a little
Rich
