PIP Appeal was created by Marie
Hi all,
I am new to this forum, but have been following and reading the useful posts for a while. I am struggling with how to fill the online appeal form and was hoping someone here maybe able to offer some guidance. I suffer with pain, stiffness, fatigue, low moods largely due to joint problems caused osteoarthritis.
My mandatory reconsideration of PIP was recently refused, largely based on the fact that I drive an unadapted car and I am able to make a 5 minute drive to work 2 times a week and make other short trips to visit family a couple of times a month. They deduced from this, that it means I don't have any mobility issued. Reading the forum posts and the various useful guides on this forum, I know this ground for refusal is pretty common.
My condition has got worse since I first applied over 6 months ago, in that it has spread to other joints, and I am currently being investigated for rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune conditions, so I am thinking to appeal and put a new claim in at the same time, as I am aware that the appeal panel may not consider any new conditions, unless I can successfully argue they were always there.
I am trying to follow the format in the appeal example guide and I am just wondering how I would insert it into the online appeal? How have other people approached it?
Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.
Marie

Hi Marie

Welcome to the forum. We have many members who write long posts; yours isn't one of them. Everyone asks what they need to ask, and we will read them, no matter the length.

You are right. The appeal judges can only say whether the decision at the time was correct, and they won't consider any issues after that date.

I'm sorry - I haven't used the online appeal form - so I hope a member with experience will tell you of their experience.
