quieries re: income and savings from ADP was created by Times Table
I hope someone can help with this query, as I have not been able to find a clear answer to it elsewhere.

I receive ADP as well as other benefits. I have always had all these benefits paid into the same account, so they are 'all in together'.

I understand that ADP is not counted as income for the purposes of calculating other benefits. Would it therefore be sensible for me to transfer my ADP payments into a seperate, dedicated account, so that when my entitlements are calculated, income from ADP can be excluded from the calculation?

Also, whilst I'm not clear about the specifics (and thus might be wrong), I think it's the case that income from ADP does not count as savings for the purposes of calculating other benefits until a certain period of time has passed. Can anyone help clarify the rules around this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Times Table

Sorry, but your question is outside the scope of the forum, and I can't advise you on whether you should keep your money in separate accounts.

Any savings over 6k will affect your benefits. It is only if someone has received a back payment and it takes them over the savings threshold that it will be ignored for a year. Otherwise, your ADP payments will become savings from day 1.
