Migration from IC to UC was created by Chris Evans
Hi there,
Going through the migration process at the moment from income support to UC.
Has been very confusing with many DWP staff unsure of the process.
I am receiving carers allowance for caring for my partner who is receiving PIP.
They are requesting fit notes constantly and they always like to keep a date to attend the jobcentre on the system even if it is months ahead. They tell me the computer prefers it that way.... Do I need to provide the fit notes?
I have filled out the health assessment paperwork (UC50?) a little while ago but have not heard back regarding any in person assessment which my partner would find almost unbearable. I am wondering what comes next?
Thanks

Hi This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.,
Firstly if the above is your email address I would change your user name for security reasons.
Can you please clarify if your partner has previously been through a DWP medical such as the PCA or WCA?

OK. I think I have changed that. Thanks.
Yes, she had a medical a few years ago when originally applied for PIP. Not for some time now although plenty of paper evidence has been supplied recently.

Hi Chris,
As your partner hasn't had a PCA or WCA medical assessment regarding availability for work, she would be expected to provide a Fit Note under Universal Credit.
You are not available for work as you are a carer though you can fill out a UC50 if you want to apply for the LCWRA element or would like the LCW work allowance.
Did you complete a UC50 for yourself or your partner ?

The UC50 was filled out for Lisa. She currently receives Enhanced daily living and mobility PIP.
