State Pension and what disability payments I keep?

Hi

Apologies if this is not something that can be answered on here or has been answered before. I'm not used to searching or posting on forums.

I'm currently on income based ESA, middle rate disability for care, and high rate mobility. I also receive severe disability payment, Industrial Injuries benefit and council tax benefit.

I'm shortly changing over onto the standard rate state pension and wonder what of my current benefits will continue? My benefit awards are indefinite. I know my ESA will end as it's work age related but not sure about everything else.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi susan5050

You should try and speak to a specialist welfare advisor - who can look at everything you receive and confirm which benefits you will lose (like the ESA) and what you might be able to claim instead (perhaps Pension credits). I have included a link to see if you can find someone in your area. advicelocal.uk/ PIP continues to be paid after state pension age.

Hi

I appreciate your response and the link which I will have a look at.

Hopefully, I will find someone who can work it all out for me. So far I've spent some hours over a few days trying to get advice but as expected all helplines are overwhelmed due to the withdrawal of the winter fuel allowance. I'm currently on an 8 week waiting list to get a call back!

Anyway as said I appreciate the advice and link.

Thanks

I am a state pensioner of 76. When I was approaching pension age I found Citizens Advice Bureau the most helpful.
I saw a worker at my local office on a face to face basis. An advisor went through all my paperwork thoroughly. I saw the advisor a number of times so that we could get everything right.
Just a suggestion.
