Half price car tax with mobility pip was created by slim
Good morning, Help needed please . I tried to claim 1/2 price car tax as I am on ordinary mobility pip. I send my yearly update to tax office, they promptly sent it back saying they needed something else, prop a letter stating from and to dates. My yearly statement came in April and stated the rate I am getting. I don't want to ring pip office as I am 69 and was told my pip would be ongoing when I reached pension age. But who knows if that is correct or not, with all these changes. Appreciate any advice Thank you

Hi Slim
When you were first awarded PIP (decision letter) you should have been told how long the award was for, if you have not got that letter then you will need to contact PIP helpline and ask for a copy, explain to DWP why you need a copy.

Thank you for swift reply, I did receive decision letter in 2015 which stated for 5 years, then COVID .I received a further letter to say I would not be assessed for further year. At this stage I was 66 & was adviced it would be soft touch . At least that's what t government said back in2021. I don't understand that a yearly update will not do. If I contact pip will they b able to give me a new decision letter without assessment???? Thanks

Hi Slim
They won't review you, just because you ask for a copy of your confirmation letter.

My confirmation letter states pip until 2022. Do I still ring up and ask for confirmation letter till 2024 so afraid of being recessed. I'm wondering is it worth the 200£ plus 1/2 price tax. Sorry to be asking the same question twice
