Hello everyone.

Just before the weekend, I received the PIP review letter for my partner.

The date on the letter is the beginning of September, with a deadline of October 1st.

It turns out she was sent a text message but because of the nature of her disability didn’t react to it.

We’re now panicking as when looking into this online it seems like if the form doesn’t get there by that date, they will count it as if the claim ended and we have to start again.

Given the just over two years of absolute hell we went through to get the award in the first place (0 points, 0 points on MR, 0 points on appeal, took to tribunal, phone call literally on the morning of the tribunal date to say full award was being made at higher rate for both) I’m at a total loss. Obviously can’t ring them, as they only work 9-5.

Any advice or reassurance would be greatly appreciated :(

Hi unknOwn

I'm not sure from your post whether you have a review form that had to be returned by the 1st October. If you have not already done so, you must phone them today and speak to them. If you can't get through today - keep trying tomorrow. Ask for an extension and they should give your partner another two weeks to get the form in.

Thank you very much for replying.

That's correct - the form arrived in the normal post on Friday 27th September, with a return by date of Tuesday 1st October.

I called PIP on Monday and was given an "additional" 2 week as you mentioned. The agent said they've had a few calls about this and it "seems like something is up with the post".

She then said she recommends the form is returned by special delivery at least a full working week before the new deadline because of the current backlog.

So really we've gained under a week. It'll have to do.

Good luck to everyone out there.
