I just received a phone call from Serco saying they were reviewing my PIP claim (this is nearly a year since I submitted the form BTW) and the lady started asking me questions about my conditions. We were a few questions in to the call when I realised that we were actually doing a whole review. At that point, I stopped the call and asked for a future appointment so that I could prepare properly.
Has anyone else experienced this when an assessor just calls with no notice and starts doing a review?
You are not the only one to report this happening. Sometimes they are just gathering additional information (which they are allowed to do), but an assessor should always tell you the reason for the call and what the outcome should be at the beginning.
