UC managed migration from ESA (support group)

hello VIA, I hope you don't mind me asking but when did you get the migration letter to move to UC ? Did you receive HB with your ESA (support group)? My B/F is on ESA (support group) with HB and we are terrified about it all. I had been reading that those on irESA support group and Housing Benefit would not be migrated yet. Are people now receiving migration notices in this group? Thanks.

I got the “ You need to claim Universal Credit” letter in August 2024.
It is titled “ Universal Credit Migration Notice”
It says that soon I will stop getting
- Child tax credit
- Housing benefit
- income related ESA
I have 3 months from the date on the letter to claim UC.

Hello, back again with more confusion. My migration to UC was due to HB. So I have just received a statement from UC which is so inaccurate. They have put down my ESA as more than I actually get, they have said my rent is less than it actually is and what they are going to give me, which I presume is just for HB, means I have to find over £150 each month out of ESA to meet the rent.

I have to contact my local council, before the 16th, to sort out Council tax with them, and they want my UC statement before they will do anything. If the figures are all wrong, it would seem pointless to send it?
I have put all of this into my journal, but they take nearly a week to respond.

I am probably being really stupid here, but I presumed I was going to have my ESA stopped and UC would take over everything. It doesn't look like it is. This is the journal entry they put in too.

Some other benefits can affect how much Universal Credit you get. You can continue to claim these benefits, but we will adjust your Universal Credit payment. Your statement shows you how we do this.

If you think this is wrong

If you no longer get this benefit you should contact the office you claimed it from. Tell them you're now getting Universal Credit and to update their records.

thank you, Gary, I appreciate your response. I am in receipt of CB ESA so that makes more sense. I wish they would understand that not all of us are able to grasp/understand all of this and it's actually very complex.
