Please clarify the following:

Your news articles

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/esa-to-uc...in-in-september-2024

AND

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/conservat...re-benefits-promises

predict that irESA and ESA with HB claimants will see migration notices from Sept24.

However, this link:

ucmove.campaign.gov.uk/universal-credit/...ly-universal-credit/

(See the Table below "When Youre likely to get your letter") says that only ESA claimants in receipt of child ben will get letters

Hi Dole

You need to look at the date when an item was published, the Government moved migration forward.

The link to B&W news letter give a date when the information was published and are up todate, on the last link you posted there is no date that I could find stating when it was published, it was accurate at the time but everything has moved on a pace since then.

The person who is advising you is being extremely pedantic in their answer to you and in reality, is mis-answering.

So, there is no legal requirement for claimants being migrated to claim UC, it is entirely their decision whether to or not.

However, whatever their decision is in regard to a UC claim their legacy benefits will be terminated three months after the date on the migration notice, there are some exceptions but these will apply to very few claimants.

So, if you can manage without claiming UC AND not receiving their existing legacy benefits then they are free to do so without penalty but many claimants will for financial reasons have no choice but to claim UC.

Hi Dole

Without a crystal ball, I do not make predictions. You may have heard that an election is due to take place, there may be a few curve balls after the results are known. 🤪
