Dear Benefits and Work. I would just like your help regarding what evidence can be used if a person has been discharged from CMHT and only has historical evidence for example from 2022/23 ? As I have noted that you put great emphasis on the importance of medical evidence for Pip reviews which should be taken very seriously as a brand new claim . If someone is discharged due to the fact that a medical condition is cronic in nature and no further input can improve on the condition what evidence carries the same value/ weight as strong evidence? Thank you. I look forward to your kind reply.
Evidence from 2022/23 - is still current. Many people have been discharged from their local CMHT, and there aren't services available for long-term care. It also makes it appear as if they are getting through the waiting list. All you can do is tell them the truth, emphasising that the condition will not improve and include the last information you have. I have successfully helped people get PIP with very old evidence - it's not ideal, but claimants can only use what they have. The most important bit is to give a clear picture of your condition/s and the impact on your daily living and/or mobility as per the PIP criteria.
