Out of the blue my wife (she's been in receipt of PIP for a number of years) had a phone call this week in lieu of a full assessment - the caller said she needed to clarify the PIP renewal form my wife completed about a year ago.
She explained that due to their backlog she would not need a full assessment and went on to ask a handful of questions really just confirming that the detail of the renewal form was still current - it was a 10-minute phone call - at the end she said the DWP would be in contact with their outcome in due course.
Does anyone have a similar experience and any idea of a likely outcome?
This has happened to some members - but I wouldn't try and speculate over the likely outcome as they can vary. All you can say is that she will get the decision far more quickly which is good. I hope that she gets the outcome she is seeking.
