Is this a change of circumstances? was created by BoneYardFarm
My partner had a phone call assessment way back in Feb/March and had her award upgraded to ful bobility. She had 11 points on the daily living and we told the assessor she suffered from tinnitus and was awaiting audiology assessments. She as recently been giving hearing aids as her hearing was fairly bad. We have rechecked the assessment as she was told by the audiologist she should get 2 points for the requirement of having o ear hearing aids.
On the communicating with others section she was awarded zero points (as she didn’t have the hearing aids then) and now as she wears them she would automatically get two points giving her enough for the higher rate of daily living!
Here is the problem, she doesn’t want to tell the DWP in case it triggers a whole new assessment and she loses her award which seems to be the consensus of many people when you ask online!
Really not suer what to do here nd help would be appreciated.

Hi BoneYardFarm
You could put in for a change of circumstances. You tell them that you are happy with the mobility award and you would like them to look at her daily living award. You then tell them about the fact you already informed them of the problem she had with tinnitus and that audiologist tests have know shown the depth of her hearing problems and the need for hearing aids. You can ask them to make a paper assessment on daily living and say that all the other information remains the same.
They may just look at the hearing issues and the particular questions that information is pertinent to, or they may send out a review form. I can't tell you what they will do - which is why I suggested you ask them for a paper-based assessment of this change of circumstances.
Is there a risk to her current award? There is always a small risk, but the far more likely scenario is they say there is no change in the award. It would be strange if she didn't get the extra points she should do for the two hearing aids. Just make it clear that you are asking them to look at this very narrow area.
